Mother's day_Facebook_2Four of the coolest, most inspiring mums we know are sharing their all-time Plumen favourite. Take your pick!

Kate Watson-Smyth

“Modern lights are increasingly about the bulb and not about the shade. In fact, I think I have only one light with a fabric lampshade in my whole house. The rest are a mix of glass and exposed bulbs – all of which need to be decorative as well as give off a good light. The days when the shade was there to hide the bulb are long gone.

I have several Plumens in my house but my favourites are the WattNott range. I have a pendant light in the bedroom – the Franklin Chandelier by Soren Rose for Menu in which the bulb is completely integral to the piece – it’s not just about the design of the light fitting but about the piece as a whole. I have fitted it with four Whirly Wyatts and it looks great and gives good light. To really show off your fancy bulb I would choose one of the Drop Hat shades in black or brass.”

Fiona Burrage

“I fell in love with the Plumen 001 the moment I saw it. Having a deep rooted love of minimalism, I admired the simplicity and beauty of the design. I have three hung above my kitchen, so they are a design feature but not in an ostentatious way; they embody ‘lagom’. When the 001 launched I remember thinking these are very special, I genuinely consider the bulbs sculptural in their form, and a piece of art. The fact that they are low energy really just cements how perfect the 001 bulbs are.”

Anna Whitehouse

“I love the Plumen 002 because it’s simple and yet a statement at the same time. We are mid-renovation and I am constantly looking for pieces that stand out and yet work in a busy, messy family house. Plumen knock it out of the park when it comes to style and substance.”
