We are very happy to announce that the Plumen 001 has joined the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum of London.
In addition, the V&A have added the first two production samples of the bulb to their collection and they have documented the design and manufacturing process that led to the creation of the Plumen 001.
We are pleased to announce that our new Pendant and Drop Cap Pendant Sets are now available worldwide in black.
We made these accessories as the perfect complement to the Plumen 001, for those looking to hang their bulb naked.
You can take a look at the Pendant Sets here.
Or for those of you who prefer your bulbs shaded, we’ve put together a Svpply list of the shades we THINK might work well with our bulbs – take a look here.
Christmas is just around the corner now, but you still have time to pick up a last minute Plumen bulb.
If you’re in the UK, you can order from our shop before 2pm today.
Or you can head over to The Conran Shop where they are stocking the bulbs and our limited edition red drop caps and pendants.
We’re excited to announce that as part of the festive season, PLUMEN bulbs are featuring in The Conran Shop‘s Christmas window display.
Conran are launching some special edition Drop Cap sets on November 16th. So as part of the build-up for their launch they held a press day in Paris where they created a special PLUMEN cake.
We wanted to share it with you as we think it is rather unusual and pretty cool.
Check out more photos from Paris on our Facebook page here.
We are excited to announce that the Japanese version of the PLUMEN 001 has landed and is now in stores. The bulbs are being distributed by LYNN Belys Illumination and can be found in the Living Motif store in Tokyo.
We’re also looking forward to the launch of Conran Japan’s special edition pendant sets for PLUMEN – more news coming soon.
We’re very pleased to announce that PLUMEN 001 has joined the permanent collection of the Cooper-Hewitt museum in New York. The Cooper-Hewitt is the only museum in the USA which is devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design.
They wrote: “As we begin our RE:DESIGN renovation project, we look forward to featuring a Plumen 001 grouping as part of our new collections installations selected for the reopening.”
The renovation finishes sometime in 2012 – you can check out the progress on their website.
We want to say a big thank you to everyone who came to see us at Love Light London 2011. It was really nice to have the opportunity to meet so many people passionate about lighting design, all in one place.
If you’ve got some spare time in London this week, Dezeen are featuring a unique installation of PLUMEN bulbs in their temporary ‘Dezeen Space‘ at 54 Rivington Street in Shoreditch.
Styled by Ariana Mouyiaris of Haptic Thought, the installation is illuminating the venue, which Dezeen are using as a multi-functional, experimental area, hosting a pop-up gallery, store, video studio and micro-event space.
We are there until the 16th October. If you fancy popping along, keep an eye out for us in the Dezeen ‘Book of Ideas’ which will also be launched and sold in the space.
